Buying a used car in Belgium?
Three things to know before you buy:
- Car-Pass
- The seller must give you the Car-Pass, the official mileage history. Without it you can have the sale cancelled.
- Inspection
- A used car needs an inspection before it can be registered in your name. In Flanders that ends on 1 January 2027 for cars registered in Belgium.
- Registration
- Your insurer registers the car with the DIV; the plate arrives by bpost (€ 30 on delivery).
